24 April 2023, Dalian - The course, "Development of Internet of Things Systems," offered by Dalian Neusoft University of Information (“DNUI”), has been designated as a national first-class undergraduate course in social practice. The Ministry of Education has recently announced the second batch of national first-class undergraduate courses, and DNUI's course has been selected for this prestigious recognition. With this recognition, the university now boasts two national first-class undergraduate courses, ranking first among private universities in Liaoning Province. Moreover, the "Fundamentals of Programming" courses at Chengdu Neusoft University ("CNU") and Neusoft Institute Guangdong  ("NUIT") have also made significant strides, both being selected as national first-class undergraduate courses.

DNUI

The "Internet of Things System Development" course at DNUI is led by Professor Liu Dan of the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering, with the participation of four other teachers, Sun Wei, Zhang Yong, Cao Xin, and Yang Tao. As a core course of the Internet of Things Engineering major, it serves as the culmination of the professional course system. The course aims to cultivate students' mastery of knowledge pertaining to the Internet of Things system, including requirement analysis, system design and presentation methods, system architecture, wireless technology and chip selection, system security, etc. It also aims to foster students' awareness of utilizing innovative thinking and professional knowledge to solve practical problems in social and economic life. Through exposure to enterprises and industries, the course trains students in the ability to identify problems and extract requirements in practical environments, establishing engineering concepts and systems.

CNU

Meanwhile, the "Fundamentals of Programming" courses at CNU has been selected as national first-class undergraduate courses that combine online and offline teaching. The course is led by Vice Dean Wen He of the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering, with the participation of four other teachers, Wang Hui, Wang Ze, Luo Daifu, and Hu Yuanbo. In 2011, the course underwent reform, adopting the 4A (Anytime, Anywhere, Anyway, Anycontent) flexible learning platform to implement hybrid teaching. The course content is based on the actual situation of the students, selecting high-quality MOOC resources for online learning content, and reconstructing the course teaching system offline, integrating real enterprise projects. The course has formed the "Learn-Practice-Train-Compete" curriculum characteristic, driven by projects, and the "output-oriented" integration of industry and education to cultivate talent collaboratively. The modular teaching approach follows the progression of "Introduction-Elementary-Intermediate-Advanced-Extension" in programming.

NUIT

The course "Fundamentals of Programming" at NUIT has been selected as a national first-class undergraduate course that combines online and offline teaching. The course, led by Professor Zhou Fukun of the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering, was developed by a team of professors, including Luo Xianlu, Xiang Yanfei, and Huang Qingqing. The course is based on the TOPCARES integrated application-oriented talent training model of Neuedu, which utilizes the PTA programming laboratory platform, Classroom, and other online resources to fully understand students' learning status data, providing a reference basis for teachers to carry out personalized teaching and precise guidance.Furthermore, the course is linked to the knowledge systems of other courses such as "Data Structures and Algorithms" and "Foundations of Computer Systems," breaking down knowledge barriers and building a comprehensive understanding of computer systems for students. The course follows a student-centered teaching philosophy and is supported by a three-in-one teaching assistant team that includes "student assistants, academic advisors, and competition guidance teams," providing guidance to students on various competitions such as the Blue Bridge Cup, ACM, CCF, and Ladder Tournament.

At Neuedu, the focus of talent training has always been on the comprehensive development of students. The integration of ideological and political education, professional education, and social services is actively promoted to cultivate students' awareness and abilities to understand, research, and serve society. The recent selection of national first-class undergraduate courses across various universities represents a significant recognition of their respective talent cultivation programs. These institutions will leverage this opportunity to intensify their efforts towards curricular development, encourage educators to partake in innovative curriculum design, broaden the scope and depth of their academic offerings, and establish a multi-tiered first-class undergraduate course construction system at the school, provincial, and national levels. Moreover, these universities will focus on cultivating the main battlefield of the classroom, creating a multi-dimensional education pattern, and leveraging their strengths as application-oriented institutions to deepen the integration of industry and education. By promoting school-enterprise cooperation and serving as the main force in cultivating application-oriented talents, these universities aim to further enhance the quality of their talent cultivation programs and foster a new generation of highly-skilled professionals.
