2023 National Private and Independent College Teacher Teaching Development Index released with DNUI ranking first nationwide and NUIT ranking first in Guangdong Province

30 October 2023, Dalian - The China Association of Higher Education (CAHE) has recently released the 2023 Teaching Development Index of National University and College Teachers (the "Index"). Dalian Neusoft University of Information (DNUI) of Neusoft Education Technology Group Co. Limited ("Neuedu", or the "Group") ranked first in the National Private and Independent College Teacher Teaching Development Index. In addition, Neusoft Institute Guangdong (NUIT) under the Group achieved the top position among colleges in Guangdong Province, securing 12th place on the list.

 

The Index issued by CAHE encompasses the Teaching Development Index of National University Teachers and the Teaching Development Index of National Higher Vocational College Teachers. The former includes the teaching development indexes of "Double First-class" university, regional university, as well as private and independent college.

 

CAHE has published the Index in five consecutive years since 2019attracting wide attention from colleges and universities, education authorities and all sectors of society. It has been reported that this year's Index remains focused on portraying the teaching ecosystem of national university educators from six dimensions, namely faculty, educational reform initiatives, textbook development projects, pedagogical writing, instructional efficacy, and teaching organization and competition. Based on the continued use of all first-level indicators in 2022, the Index added four second-level indicators and six third-level indicators in 2023, incorporating an additional 60,000 data points to bring the total number of data points to 620,000. Furthermore, the Index includes a total of 1232 universities and colleges, representing 99.2% of all higher education institutions nationwide. Additionally, it encompasses 385 private colleges, accounting for 98.47% of the total number of private institutions in the country.

 

Teachers serve as the cornerstone of educational inception, the catalyst for educational advancement, and the primary driver of educational development. Neuedu has consistently prioritized the cultivation of its teaching staff, continuously enhancing their instructional capabilities, and actively spearheading the TOPCARES blended education teaching reform to elevate the quality of talent training.

 

DNUI was awarded the First Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award in 2023, building upon its historic win as the first private university to receive this esteemed accolade in 2005. In addition, DNUI had one course selected as a National First-class Undergraduate Course in 2023. Furthermore, DNUI achieved another milestone by having one more course chosen as a National Social Practice First-class Course, bringing its total record to two and securing the top ranking among private universities in Liaoning.

 

The university was recognized as an A-category institution in the Research Report on National University Student Computer Competition, ranking first among private universities nationwide and being the sole private university within the top 6% on the list. Additionally, it achieved a top 18% ranking among all listed universities in the Research Report on National University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, securing fourth place among colleges and universities in Liaoning Province and maintaining its position as the leading private college.

 

NUIT has successfully obtained its first National First-class Course, out of a total of six courses selected from six private universities. The school won one first prize, two second prizes and four third prizes in the 2023 American College Students Mathematical Contest in Modeling. In 2023, the University achieved a ranking of 271 in the 2022 National College Student Competition Ranking (single year), marking an improvement of 16 places compared to its position in 2021. Notably, among the institutions listed, a total of 23 private colleges (including independent colleges) from Guangdong Province were included, with NUIT securing the top spot among all private colleges (including independent colleges) within the province. Furthermore, the university ranked first among private universities in Guangdong Province in terms of the number of projects approved by the Ministry of Education's first phase of Employment Education Projects Connecting Supply and Demand in 2023.
