President WEN Tao was invited to attend the AFCEC annual conference and make a keynote report

3 August 2023, Dalian - The Association of Fundamental Computing Education in Chinese Universities (AFCEC) Annual Conference was held in Taiyuan, sponsored by AFCEC, Jinzhong College of Information, Taiyuan Normal University, and co-organized by Shanxi Computer Society, Xi 'an Kaiyuan Electronic Industry Co. Ltd., and Neusoft Education Technology Group Co. Limited (“Neuedu”, or the “Group”). Nearly 400 people attended the meeting, including leaders and teachers from undergraduate colleges and higher vocational colleges, executive directors, directors, members of the research association, and technical and managerial personnel from enterprises and institutions. 

Professor TAN Haoqiang, a computer educator and honorary president of AFCEC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. HUANG Xinyuan, president of AFCEC, professor of the Communication University of China, and secretary general of the Teaching Steering Committee of Animation and Digital Media of the Ministry of Education, attended the meeting and gave a work report. LI Yanling, vice President of Jinzhong College of Information, attended the meeting and delivered a speech on behalf of the organizer, Dr. WEN Tao, honorary president of Dalian Neusoft Institute of Information and vice president of AFCEC, attended the meeting and gave a keynote report, and Dr. DONG Benqing accompanied and won the "AFCEC 2023 Outstanding Teacher". LI Chang, senior vice president and Secretary general of AFCEC, presided over the opening ceremony, senior vice president LV Yinghua, vice president YANG Zhiqiang, vice president HE Qinming, vice president GUI Xiaolin and vice president WANG Zhiqiang presided over the award ceremony and the theme report. 

Ten experts and scholars from major institutions of higher learning, scientific research institutions and enterprises in China made thematic reports on topics such as curriculum and teaching, industry-university-research cooperation, standard construction, digital transformation, and computer basic education. 

Professor WEN Tao delivered a keynote speech entitled "Thinking and Practice on the Development of Digital Transformation in Institutions of higher Learning". He believes that the digital wave has spawned a large number of digital application and technical skills of talent demand, and it is urgent to use digital technology to continuously improve and build a new paradigm of high-quality development of colleges and universities. Facing the existing difficulties and challenges of digital transformation in colleges and universities, it is necessary to further clarify the conceptual connotation and basic principles of digital transformation, and build a framework system of digital transformation in colleges and universities from the five levels of "school, major, curriculum, teacher and evaluation". He pointed out that the purpose of digital transformation is not only the "transformation" itself, but the process of the school's active connection and use of digital technology to enable high-quality education, to be based on moral education, student-centered, active use of digital technology, application-oriented, content-supported, data-driven, and quality-based. Optimize the key links, fields and elements of the school-running process from a global, systematic and deep level to ensure the high quality development of the school. 

Founded in 1984, AFCEC is one of the earliest, largest and most influential national first-level academic organizations, which has made great contributions to the development of basic computer education in China.
